The 5th ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF), Toronto will launch on Monday June 22nd with a programme of films that includes three shorts by Pat Kelman.
The programme includes FRANCIS, THE LETTER GAME and ELEPHANT BOY.
Being selected for RHIFF is like a homecoming for the film maker, as his first feature, ENCOUNTERS, won the Best Feature Film prize in the Festival’s inagural year in 2005 and has been shown twice since under the Festival’s banner.
FRANCIS and THE LETTER GAME are included in the Festival’s new “ReelTube” category, intended for films created for the internet.
ELEPHANT BOY has the honour of being selected for the Festival’s Short Film Competition.
The films are all award-winners at the online Short and Documentary film competition website, Filmaka.com. Filmaka’s founder, “Bend It Like Beckham” producer Deepak Nayar, responded to the news with”Congratulations, hopefully we shall make a full length feature with Pat.”
Tickets for the June 22nd screening are available here, and tickets for the Festival overall can be found at the ReelHeART International Film Festival website.
Pat Kelman’s film “Francis” has been awarded the Special Jury Prize in the “Truth or Dare” competition on Filmaka.com. He will compete against the other qualifiers in the Final round, due to take place in three months’ time.
